A New Name. A New Space. A New Chapter Ahead.

Big things have been taking shape behind the scenes over here in Springfield, MA, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to.

“2025 was a year of reflection and opportunity to take a meaningful pause. It gave us the space to step back, listen closely, and make thoughtful decisions about how we want to grow, serve, and show up for our clients and our team. I’m excited to announce three meaningful developments that reflect who we are today and where we are headed,” says Emily Leonczyk, President and CEO. “A new name, a new space, and a new website coming soon!”

We’re proud to be operating officially as Canopy Management Group, Inc., formerly known as The Markens Group. While our name has changed, our mission has not. Our EIN, services, team, and commitment to the associations and nonprofits we serve remain the same. What has evolved is the clarity of how we describe our role.

We partner with associations and member organizations to deliver strategic, operational, and administrative management services that strengthen engagement, effectiveness, and long-term impact. We work as an extension of our clients’ teams, serving as a trusted right hand to boards, volunteers, and staff. Our integrated approach brings together strategy, operations, finance, governance, membership, events, and engagement to support healthy, sustainable organizations.

The name Canopy reflects the way we work. Strong roots. Interconnected systems. Shared growth. It speaks to our belief that organizations thrive when the right structures, people, and processes are intentionally connected.

Alongside this evolution, we expanded and moved into a new office suite within our existing building. As our team has grown, so has the way we work. The new space offers more natural light, room for collaboration, and dedicated areas for focused work and strategic conversations. It was designed to support how we serve our clients today and how we plan to support them in the years ahead. We look forward to welcoming boards and community partners into the space for planning sessions, board meetings, and meaningful discussions.

This site is now the home of Canopy Management Group, and a new website is coming soon. The updated site will more clearly tell our story, highlight our people, and make it easier to understand how we support member-driven associations and nonprofit organizations.

At the center of everything we do is our team.
